FISHING & ACCOMMODATION

4rivers

This vast resource extends over 95 miles of wild rivers and has many, wide and varied pools and runs. Many of these stretches have never been fished. Your fly could well be the first ever to be cast over a given run. We have explored many prime locations and are discovering new hot spots every week. A number of trophy fish have already been taken and there are many more waiting for the perfect presentation

TAIMEN

TaimenFly fishing for Taimen in Mongolia is a very unique experience. The best populations of Taimen are found in the pristine rivers of Mongolia. Situated between China and Russia, Mongolia is 7 times the size of Great Britain and with a mere 2.5 million inhabitants it is one of the most sparsely populated areas of the world. Its lakes and rivers set in the virgin steppe offer unmatched angling.

LENOK AND GRAYLING

camp3In addition to the big Taimen, the waters we fish hold thriving stocks of  sporting Lenok. These beauties grow to 13 - 27 inches (35-70 cm) and the larger brutes also take Taimen flies. While most anglers concentrate just on the Taimen, those interested in great dry fly fishing, nymphs, and smaller streamers will have a ball with these trout look-a-likes.  Grayling can be found moving in shoals in different streams of the river.

FOUR RIVERS LODGE

The lodge in which you will stay boasts a prime location near the junction of four individual rivers.  The Chulut, Delger, Ider, and Selenge rivers all boast prime pools  which can be accessed by jet-boat. Many stretches of water are within easy reach of the lodge. All of them offer first-class fly fishing. And there are even interesting spots within easy walking distance from the lodge... ideal for guests wanting to cast an early morning or later evening fly.  The lodge itself accommodates eight guests. Two guests share a guide and one boat. The rivers are fished in rotation to ensure that the individual pools are not over-fished. This is one top secret of our successful fishery management. Contrary to the migratory Salmon, Taimen are sedentary and should not be heavily fished for. The extensive river system, the mobility of the jet-boats and the limited number of guests guarantee first-class fishing in a near pristine environment.  Even guests who may fear roughing it in such a remote location will be astonished at the comfort found in the lodge.
