PRE-TRIP INFORMATION

Fly fishing for Taimen:

9-10 ft, 8-10 weight single-handed rod, floating line and sink-tip line. Leader 25-45 lb. Reel with strong drag and 100 yards (90 m) of backing. Fly fishing for Lenok: 8-10 ft, 5-8 weight single-handed rod, floating line and sinking line. Leader 4-20 lb. Reel with 50 yards (45 m) of backing. The Camp has a small shop which stocks angling material and flies at reasonable prices. You can also rent fishing tackle there.

ENTRY FORMALITIES

There are no entry problems for Mongolia. The validity of your passport must extend 6 months beyond the date of your return journey and you will need a Visa to enter. Vaccinations are not necessary.

CLOTHING

In October near the end of the season there can be frost. Warm underwear, gloves and a cap are needed. Good advice for all dates. The nights can be very cold. Bring warm clothing – underwear, sweater, and anorak – and you will be well prepared for the colder days.
